A cancer journey is one that once it touches you, a loved one, or a friend you are never quite the same.

​

While on this journey I discovered that many people are reluctant to discuss their cancer diagnosis and suffer alone fearing that people will look at them differently or simply just not understand.  The part that touched me to the core was that because of this reluctance to discuss their diagnosis with family, coworkers and friends they felt so alone. 

 

At one point during my cancer journey I received a quilt that was put together by many hands. Honestly, I had no idea that so many people cared and wanted to do something that showed how much they cared.  It was this simple random act of kindness that brought me so much happiness after months of recovery that I realized that I needed to pay it forward and bring joy to others in an otherwise dark time in their life.​

Thanks to my daughter for teaching me how to craft and make epoxy resin tumblers.  I decided that the random act of kindness I would choose was to start making personalized tumblers and distribute them to people currently with cancer or to survivors of cancer.  The tumbler has their name, the year, and the color of the tumbler comes from the extensive list of ribbons dedicated to their type of cancer.

I started small and quickly realized that people were so happy to know that they were thought of by sometimes a complete stranger who took the time to acknowledge their journey.  I wanted to do more and started this non-profit to be able to do just that.
